here a small excerpt from the flaws:

-no sound isolation: you can hear everybody and everything around you. be prepared to get scared out of nowhere when the person living above you drops a bottle, or any solid item for that matter on the floor.
you can hear every movement of your neighbors. any vibration of the walls/floor (footsteps/or only tipping your finger on a solid wood chair) WILL BE HEARD from everybody around you, because the boxes are not solid, but more like paper boxes transmitting vibration all the time, without you being able to locate the source.
there is also ventilation that buzzes noticeably like a small vacuum cleaner and can “officialy” not be turned off!

-vibration: as said before these boxes are not solid. there was some shaking going on during some heavier winds recently; all your furniture will shake with every footstep, because the floor is not solid; you are feeling like in an earthquake zone everytime somebody living above or underneath you is having a hectic moment, a party, or somebody is running outside.

-privacy: you can expect everybody to hear all your movements that touch the floor or walls; if you are unlucky the only thing that you will be able to see out of your window is other appartements and no sky at all, which means the appartment will be very dark for the biggest part of the year if you dont put on some lights, which makes you the superstar of your own private tv show for the up to 9 people that can look straight inside your WHOLE LIVING AREA. alternatively you can ofcourse leave the curtains closed all the time, which is great of you are no friend of sunlight.

-price: the whole box feels very cheap and unstable. despite being built not even close to 10 years ago, i feel like i am living in something that can fall apart at any minute. if i had to guess, i would estimate the cost for building one of these thing in the 1500-3000€ area.
now the funny thing is that rent for this is 530€ a month and i even had to pay ssh 550€ extra because i rented it via direct offer from their website.

this thing is absolutely unacceptable and i feel ripped of by the person who constructed this thing and of course from ssh who know how rough utrechts housing market is for international students and who seem to have no regrets to rape students financially.

i post this to warn people who consider living here in the future!
