The Nomadhome by Gerold Peham
Architect Gerold Peham believes that people’s lives today are full of change, and therefore require flexibility and temporary solutions. People are essentially modern nomads, living in various places for a time, then moving on, but all the while having a desire for good design. With this in mind, Gerold created the NOMADHOME, a modular prefab living concept that provides the largest possible efficient use of space and geographical flexibility.
The homes are made in Austria, delivered about 8-10 weeks after an order is placed, and only require four people two days to assemble on site.

Love the concept and the execution is fabulous. I see on their website they even do configurations suitable for families. I do wonder if the design plays into the temporary and throw-away nature of modern life a little too much. Surely people can’t be expected to take the houses with them as they move around? Would that not create a huge carbon-footprint?
Still, I’m totally in love with the design – looks fantastically liveable!

Hi Kim
This is something I want to see come into Canada, especially as cottages to be built to create an eco-friendly footprint.
