The Focus House by Bere Architects
You might have seen and read about the Focus House in north London before, it has been widely reported on because it’s so unique being squeezed in between a couple of Victorian terrace homes. From the street, the house looks impossibly thin, but it’s actually a wedge shaped house that gets wider the further in to the house you go. The entrance is 2.8 metres (9.2 feet) wide, expanding to 7 metres (23 feet) wide at the back. The house further contrasts with those around it by abandoning the typical brick and instead going with grey zinc cladding.
Designed by Bere Architects, the house has won a number of awards for both its architecture and the many environmentally friendly features that were used. You can read more about the house → here.
The house is for sale at £899,950 through The Modern House Estate Agents → here.

The Bernard Chair by Jonas Lindvall
We love the work of Swedish designer Jonas Lindvall, and have featured his work before here, here, and here. Today we see that he’s come out with the Bernard chair.
From Jonas Lindvall:
Handmade by a small group of cabinet makers in Småland (Sweden), each piece requires 42 hours of intensive craftsmanship to perfect. Taking its name from the 12th century ecclesiastic, St Bernard of Clairvaux, the chair is Jonas Lindvall’s homage to traditional skills in an age when mass production techniques hold sway. It is a design without compromise.
