Modern Treehouses by Baumraum
Baumraum is a company in Germany that designs and builds some of the most amazing treehouses we’ve ever seen. Most of their projects are in Germany, but they’ve also completed treehouses in Austria, Hungary, Italy, Brazil and the United States. This would rank fairly high on our list of “Most Fun Jobs Ever,” maybe this is what architects do when they refuse to grow up?

Haha, yeah, i’m not sure I’d call them authentic tree houses, but the designs are cool, and I sure wouldn’t mind having one for my vacation home.

got to the site and expected a circle, yes an orb……..a centuries old classic geometric shape we call the Ball………..suspended from a tree……..besides it’s obvious structural superiority……the aestetis that lend itself to nature are obvious……….Imagine a giant accorn……..study one…..feel it……from its’ shell to its ‘roof’ it would make a superb tree house……..aestetically it is unbeatable…..but then you Germans over design everything and take all your cues from Berlin………….go to the Black Forest and throw out your ‘industry’ materials, your hard lines and your concrete and pipes and truly consider the Tree itself as the Cue………the limbs it’s base……..yes, it’s very ‘home-like’ qualities’…………most of the designs you have here detract from the Tree itself………of course they are competent in modern utilitarianism………..but the real challenge I charge you all with is to truely build a Tree House with the Tree in mind……….Try starting with the ‘right’ tree…….and a big one at that and you will have your ‘window’………..
