The PC1 Residence by Pb Elemental
Chris from Pb Elemental has sent us photos of another house from the Seattle, Washington based design/build firm that is producing a surprising amount of contemporary homes. The PC1 residence was just completed last month, and is located in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood.
From Pb Elemental:
This single family residence responds to the clients’ desire to live in a dramatic and well-lit space. Translucent polycarbonate sheets enclose the major living spaces resulting in an abundance of natural light and an interior wall that changes with the weather. The 2,850 sf residence consists of three levels with an 850sf secondary suite and two-car garage on the lower level.

the furniture is kinda awkward, isn’t it?

Yes, as if the people who live in the house aren’t those who built it.

I would like to see it “warmed up” a bit with some different materials and selections.

I think it rocks….! I love the way the roof in the back folds down to secure the back porch…. if only we the people could have this type of design without it costing so much….

A beautiful home indeed. I can’t say much for the homes flanking it. Its an odd fit in that neighborhood.

I agree with Alexandre about the furniture placement. It is a narrow house though so you do limit yourself to what you can do, but it looks like it was almost “staged” and staged badly, that or they spent all of their money on the house instead of cutting back a little and buying slightly more modern furniture, but either way they got what they asked for… Lots of polycarbonate.

Is this what passes for architecture these days?
This is a hot mess.

i agree with lance that because of the house is narrow ,then you have to limited the arrangement of the furniture .but is seems akward with that piano and red sofa ,but i love the sofa . the piano should be placed somewhere and a rug should be placed to mark the boundaries of living and a sense of space.the wall also is so plain and untouched. i think the translucent white polycarbonate closed the conection to the environment …or the environment itself become the eyesore that more good if you just closing it.
