The Whistler Cay Residence by a|k|a architecture
Located in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada is this 5000 sq. ft. mountain home
designed by a|k|a architecture & Design.
From the architects:
The contemporary design incorporates the vernacular materials of the typical Whistler mountain home but applies them in a modern language with clean and simple gestures that are at once bold yet subtle. The house asserts its presence on the street yet respectfully refers to its context through its warm use of timber, stone and natural cedar wood siding. The grand living spaces feature expansive glass windows that open up to views beyond. Secondary spaces offer smaller framed views while securing privacy from nearby houses.

I Love all the spaces except the Kitchen! It feels very heavy with the white top returning to the floor. Take the returns out and the whole kitchen would feel much bigger and the island would be approachable from all sides seating space not so tight The floor to ceiling windows are wonderful and I would move in tomorrow.

I love the home and would like to use it for one of my assignments. I have to create an axonometric explosion view of the home, which I think will be very difficult for me, considering I am only in my first year in Architectural Science at Ryerson University. It would me much appreciated if I am able to receive some blue prints or axo views of the home. Thanks a lot!
