S House by Grosfeld van der Velde Architects
Dutch architects Grosfeld van der Velde have designed this house located in the city of Breda.
From the architects:
The house is located on the edge of the Asterdplas in the Hague district meadows in Breda. The living area is raised above the surrounding land, so that the view of the natural environment is optimal. Large terraces immediately adjacent to the main living areas and large windows give the house a light and transparent character.

How come stumbling in “architecture” all I get are these cold, hard, empty, little box contrivances? Doesn’t “architecture” encompass anything more than this?
Personally, this house seems like a prison to me (Regardless of the size of the windows). Nature rarely makes boxes and that is why this place detracts visually from it’s environment (In my opinion) and why it would be very uncomfortable to try to live in (In my opinion).

Yet again, creativity and the way we live and communicate become more open and free. Love it.

its impressive how the environnement of the house is as exciting as the house itself. The quality of living in such place must be amazing.

I find the white light box on the porch to be lonely. It’s kind of sad.

Not bad at all. I love contempoary style. Although, this particular one looks uneasy when it’s raining. I would’ve probably add some wall colors or paintings on the walls, to warm it up a little bit

Very clean and modern lines with lots of light and an amazing view. I would fill this home with all varieties of art.

it is not even an average design, it is merely a contemporary design.
needs a higher ceiling, needs to get rid of the corner column which screws the view, needs a better landscaping.. and so on.
and wtf is that glass door in the middle of hallway??
4/10

Minimalist design is too often about just being over-sized. This is a poor demonstration of how much you can buy of one of the most valuable assets these days: space.
