The house looks like it's only around 2000 square feet of floor space. It's basically a simple rectangular box on a flat lot, with a standard peaked roof, and it doesn't look like it has a basement. Also, the flooring in the living room appears to just be the concrete foundation. There are a number of design decisions which were probably chosen to keep costs down (ie: modest). Where they probably spent a little extra was the post and beam work, the wood frame windows, and the custom fireplace and chimney.
