Future Flora Pendant Lights by Tord Boontje
Dutch designer Tord Boontje has created the Future Flora lighting series for Artecnica.
From Tord Boontje:
Although I started by looking very closely at flowers, it became a project from memory, to imagine shapes which are like flowers but not exactly, a new kind of species – a flower and light hybrid.
From Artecnica:
Precision-etched metal sheets that transform into three exotic bloom-shaped forms. Future Flora inhabits the intersection of nature and technology. Future Flora’s contoured openings, fine details, and silver matte surface all conspire to illuminate space by casting poignant radiance. Packaged flat, Future Flora is assembled by connecting intricate metal sheets that comprise each design.

a little over the top… it’s beautiful, but it’s hard to make it work, i guess. it can get ugly easily.

like a egg beater dangling from the petals ..the petals look like butterfly in the other perspective ..but i think the lamp is too cramped ..lots of detailing that make it no longer in minimalism effect. and it’s looking ugly sometimes (like a mutant flower in other perspective view )

Interesting work done on the decorations made by the speaker. As in origami light for outdoors this subject and certainly like combining emotion and light. Worries me a little maintenance and the possible stationing of cobweb spiders and can once installed.
