DC 90 Chair and DC 290 Sofa by Vincenzo De Cotiis
Italian architect Vincenzo De Cotiis has designed the DC 90 Chair and DC 290 Sofa for the Italian manufacturer Ceccotti Collezioni.
The chair and sofa are made from solid American walnut that has been stained brown. The frame is based on a gently curving X shape, finished with burnished brass feet. The seat and back-rest leather cushions are hand stitched with kangaroo twine and have down filling.

Black leather, can it get more sophisticated then that?

Looks very comfortable.
I like the design, and the black leather is very nice.

Wow, I love these. Great design!
I can sense that a lot of work has gone into making these. The woodwork especially.
Such quality craftsmanship is a rare find these days.

I hate to say it, but these do absolutely nothing for me. The proportions and lines just look off to me.

This is the kind of furniture I would buy and own for life.
Excellent.

Alan, I agree with you. The proportions on the sofa feel very unbalanced.

The chair is great, but the sofa just looks disproportionate. Sometimes you can’t just expand a complete design to accommodate a larger piece. Kinda like taking a Porsche 911 and trying to expand it into an SUV — just doesn’t look right

I can understand your comments if you look at photos only, but the work of this designer has no analogues. HE is incredebly tallanted, brakes all frames of what we are used to see, as he is not following the trend of the stream. If you have ever seen his products alive, you would be shure that the first impression of the proposions is provokative for some reason.
