Interestingly, the swimming pool is in shade during summer due to the need to shade the large glass wall. The photo shows this very well. Excellent shading of the wall however.
Still, it is a beautiful house. - the stair and adjoining wall are probably solid concrete - an excellent thermal mass for tempering heat flows.

Beautiful House. Some articles such as the one in Fast Company are calling it a passive house. It certainly seems hard to imagine that it would be a certified passive house, due to two things:
1. Irregular shapes - overall volume to surface area ratio does not Look like it is very thermally efficient.
2. Too much glass - that beautiful stacked glass wall is a major loser of heat - glass having an R-value of about 0.15 per inch, even a 6" thick glass wall would have an R-value of only about 1.

The exterior is beautiful, but inside it's something of a disappointment from those photographs. That main bedroom is very uninteresting. I wonder why no views of kitchen, bathroom or main living areas? Is it incomplete?
