The Peacock Chair by Dror Benshetrit
New York based designer Dror Benshetrit has created the Peacock chair for Cappellini.
Created out of three sheets of felt and a minimal metal frame. The folds of the felt are woven tightly to form a structured yet incredibly comfortable lounge chair, with no weaving, sewing, or upholstery involved.

woow veeery beautiful, very glamourous. but i gotta say, (and this is the type of comment my grandma woul do…) it must be tough to clean, i mean, with all the folds… it’s like a hotel for dust…

I am loving what we’re seeing of felt these days. the folds, the coloring, the fan-like shape. It’s playful, yet a bit regal.

I see the pleats getting crushed with extended use, but WOW! This is a stunning piece of furniture.

I have never been a big fan of Dror’s work. Its very one dimensional in concept. Having said that I do feel this is the most interesting thing he has done. My only complaint is that the legs just seem “stuck on”. They don’t really have any real connection to the rest of the chair. This is a problem I see in many experimental chairs out there…
