This is a good example of how a contemporary result can spring even from age-old indigenous construction methods. I used to live in that State and went to Mundau a few times. The clay roof supported by woodgrid is an efficient shelter from the inclement equatorial sun, used by villages of fishermen for centuries. Unfortunately, many young architects there flee from that on search of a 'modern' look (what for them means flat roofs and, of course, AC). It's very pleasant to see foreign architects showing awareness of, and respect for, local culture.

This must be a fantastic building to live in, having access to decks from every room.

The exterior view of the decks look somewhat like scaffolding. Perhaps the outside is a bit too little defined being wrapped up like this.

Chapeau for the Eco-friendliness of the project.
