The Continue Time Clock by Sander Mulder

Dutch designer Sander Mulder has created the ‘Continue Time’ clock.

On the Continue Time clock, two out of the three pointers rotate around another pointer, instead of the central point on the clock face, as with traditional clocks. The resulting kinetic artwork is continuously changing its shape during a full rotation of twelve hours. While creating mesmerizing patterns on your wall. The pointers are still read as with any traditional clock.

Diva Lamps by Thomas Egset and Peter Natedal

Norwegian designers Thomas Egset and Peter Natedal have created the Diva lamps for the Oslo, Norway based manufacturer Northern Lighting.

Diva is a set of wood laminated floor and pendant light sculptures. By making a contemporary light object the two young designers, Thomas and Peter, wanted to pay their respect to the proud Norwegian heritage of wood lamination craftsmanship, and at the same time challenge or reinvent how this material can be used. Diva’s strong yet soft and almost feminine character emerged from experimenting with different curve codes, from which two distinct sets of patterns occurred. The lamp’s outer frame consists of a set of thirty two gently curving walnut or oak laminated plywood slices set around two wooden cylinders. The inner parts consist of a slim metal stem supporting a solid mouth-blown frosted glass globe. The floor lamp’s outer frame can be turned in two directions, creating two different sculptures. Diva creates a warm yet dynamic atmosphere when it is turned on, and when off it remains an essential and uniquely aesthetic décor object in any room.

The lamps will officially be launched at the 100% Norway show, which is held in September during the 100% Design show in London.

The Flip Sofa/Table by Adrien Rovero

Swiss designer Adrien Rovero has created Flip, a sofa that can be transformed into a table by turning the seat upside down and placing it on top.

The origin of Flip begins from a simple situation: a board and two trestles. This type of improvised writing table has a very clear characterization and a simple principle with no particular mechanism. In no case must this double functionality make this a hybrid object. Flip should be particularly suitable for small apartments, where it’s important to save space, but also for communities where a improvised working surface could be necessary.

Flip will be produced by the Italian manufacturer Campeggi.

My House Nightclub by Dodd Mitchell Design

My House is a new nightclub in Los Angeles that has been designed by Dodd Mitchell.

The club’s interior reinterprets the classic house party by feeling and functioning like you’ve entered someone’s private home. According to David Judaken, the club’s owner, “Discerning Angelenos are seeking a new paradigm to replace the current dichotomy of tiny lounges and large, anonymous clubs that proliferate Hollywood.”

“I have always enjoyed the comfort of a house party that just doesn’t exist in your typical nightclub, so with My House I set out to create an environment I would personally relish, and bring that vision to the nightlife space,” said designer Dodd Mitchell.

Porcini Lamps by memaké

memaké is a collaboration between Jaquie Hagan and Madeleine Potter. The two interior designers are based in Adelaide, Australia, and have recently created the Porcini Lamp collection.

From the designers:

The Porcini range grew from a subtle exploration into the elegantly simple form of the mushroom. A series of organic shapes and forms were reinterpreted to form these beautifully crafted and sustainable pieces. Bringing the role of artisan back into design, the Porcini design represents a spirit of craft and the handmade.

The range consists of two designs, the Porcini Stem, comprised of a standard lamp and table lamp, and the Porcini Canopy, comprised of various sized pendant lamps. The lamp shades across the entire Porcini range are interchangeable, to achieve multiple size combinations. Using naturally sustainable materials; Tasmanian Oak, a non-endangered timber species sourced from Australian sustainable forests finished with natural Australian beeswax, and 100% pure new wool upholstery, which is both biodegradable and renewable.

The Eagle Harbor Cabin by Finne Architects

Seattle based architect Nils Finne has sent us photos of a cabin he designed on the shores of Lake Superior at Eagle Harbor, on the northerly edge of Michigan State’s Upper Peninsula.

Nils Finne says:

How did we end up doing this project?  Well, the clients are old friends from Seattle who live in a house that I renovated with them about 8 years ago.  So, when they acquired the Lake Superior property, they asked me to design a get-away cabin for their family.  It is a spectacular site, and the cabin sits about 30 feet from the lake.  The design is tailored to the site, with a 40-ft. long glass wall facing the lake.  We did a custom dining table and a custom coffee table, and the cabinets are PLYBOO (a very eco-friendly material consisting of bamboo and plywood) with mahogany end panels.
