The OVO Rocker by Joe Manus
Atlanta, Georgia based designer Joe Manus has created the OVO Rocker.
Joe says:
This rocker is precision made in my shop in Atlanta. It is a two tone Ebony and Birch assembly. Very comfortable and with its modern curves, it will blend into a sophisticated decor. This makes a nice everyday chair for reading or conversation as well as nice accent to a nursery. This can even be your modern twist on the porch rocker as it is finished with 5 coats of lacquer it will survive well in a covered outdoor environment.

The rivets are too prominent.

They’re screws with cup washers, not rivets… but they are distracting and cheapen the look. I like exposed hardware, but there’s a certain elegance missing in this chair.

I think this is an example of unsuccessful design dictated by form not function. Materials are poorly distributed (rocker legs are much too heavy) and the somewhat industrial look of the exposed screws is not in keeping with rest of the design.

looks like an uncultured wheelchair, whose wheels have been bolted down…
sophisticated? I don’t think so
