The SARA Armchair by Davide Conti
Italian designer Davide Conti has created the SARA armchair.
From the designer:
SARA born from the concept of seeking to merge two aspects of living in the garden. One way is to sit in a chair and then without having contact with the ground, another way is instead to be lying on the floor, thus having full contact with the green.
The fusion of these two options creates SARA which is low almost at ground level allowing her legs and arms under the arches to touch the grass, but raised enough ground for us to relax in a comfortable armchair.

that is a SEXY chair. (The model is too, but that’s for another day!) Love the simplicity of it, and i can easily picture that in my living room! Maybe with a dark stain though.

How are the ergonomics of this chair? Won’t it bring tension to your neck? Apart from that it does look good and light.

looking at it again, a nice piece of curved wood sitting in holes on the top and bottom, following the same profile as the seat but sort of under the seat extending the legs and headrest could be really interesting. a little hard to explain, but i’d be able to draw the concept in no time flat. none the less a nice chair!

Wow! I built a chair just like that in 2004. I never went past a 1/6 scale model and decided instead to move forward with a different concept. Very cool chair.
