The Laidley Street Residence by LSarc
San Francisco architects LSarc sent us photos of the Laidley Street residence they’ve designed.
Full description after the photos….

The Laidley Street Residence by LSarc
Completed in 2002, this new home in San Francisco is conceived as a series of interlocking forms, stepping up the hill and out of the earth to become a transparent glass form bound by the planar structure. This linear language informs the details throughout, appearing in the plan, elevations and custom furniture design. The street level entry opens to a sculpture court where an open, steel and concrete stairway leads to a terrace and the formal front door. All three living levels enjoy panoramic views of the city from the front and the serenity of a Japanese inspired garden to the rear.
In collaboration with Tom John, Interiors.

The view from the window is of the city, but then you also have a private and serene garden outside. I like the mix of these two.

This architect is great, the company I work for deals with architects all the time and this architect has done some great designing in both commercial and residential. What a beautiful home this is.
Living large is an understatement.

Live about a block away and walk by it on my way to Glen Park. Have always loved the bench (shown) and thought of this as a generous gift to the passerby. It does not surprise me to see that this spirit continues w/in.

I have to say, this is one of the most beautiful homes I’ve ever seen. It probably has a bit more space than I would need for a bachelor pad, but the aesthetics of it and the design are wonderful. Of course, I have to inquire: What’s the price tag for a piece of real estate like this?

Isn’t this the house from the end of the movie “Enough” lol I am almost positive

I love good design anywhere, and this certainly makes amazing use of the available & difficult space… However, being rather pragmatic, I’d like to see where you store the trash cans & know whether it has self-clean windows? I certainly love all the balconies which brake up the facade and the cool garden to rear… Thanks for sharing

I sure love this design and would like to congratulate both the architect and the owner. Well done and enjoy this lovely design. If one day I will decide to purchase a piece of land, I will surely think of this great architect.

Beautifully designed and embedded in its specific environment. Great to see that plain and not overloaded dream-houses are still possible.
