Where is the liquid soap or bar soap, for instance? Toothbrushes in holder? And where does one store shampoos, conditioners & towels near the tub? Some things, many things, are stored out of view... but I like to have things regularly used close at hand. This is a look that I love: it makes a space look modern and airy, and it's easy to clean under it. I especially love the top bathroom. I love the tub with the wooden surround. Surfaces should be curvy and accessible for ease of cleaning, and it would be preferable not to have to bring a clothes horse into the bathroom, or be reduced to chucking towels over the bedroom door or the balustrade to dry. God forbid anyone should use a dryer unless one powered by sun, wind or sea. ESSENTIALS A bathroom should be a room in which the soul is set free. So the big generous spaces and soaring ceilings in these pictures are great, and the huge windows. The total saturation, or minimalistic absence, of colour is inspiring. Huge chandeliers and towering light and shade or artwork add to the drama. Some of the shapes in the pics are wondrously graceful, a quality essential in the room in which the most elegantly fluid of all substances (with the possible exception of mercury) is the prime element.
