The Barnacle Stool by Robert Brou
American designer Robert Brou has sent us photos of the Barnacle Stool he has created.
From the designer:
The design was entirely created in the moment while in the shop. The body is constructed of 12/4 (3″) Maple lumber that is laminated together and then sculpted with a variety of grinders and sanders. This sits atop eleven Ash legs that are dyed purple. Each leg is set into the body at a slightly canted angle that gives the piece life by suggesting motion. This work is the first to bridge the gap between simpler sculpted forms like the ‘Tree’ table and more complex multi leg forms like the ‘Urchin’ table.

This is really cute. Reminds me of a cute pet alien for some reason.
