kudos to the mandarin! the entrance is simply stunning! its a different take on designing hotel lobbys, good to see a major hotel chain deviating from the usual hotel design.

I agree, I have always found Urquiola’s work amazing but in this hotel, although a very nice one,I can’t see anything impressive as in ‘never seen before”, anything that reflects her usual creativity.

I’ve never really been impressed with most of Urquiola’s works, most especially her furniture pieces. But this I have to say, changed my perception on her. Bravo to you! I really LOVE this hotel. Every space is impressive but not over the top. Very nicely executed!

Very nice hotel design. I would not want to live in a space like this, but for a short visit it is perfect. Interesting and slightly over the top.

I love the furniture she designed for Moroso, B&B Italia, and Driade. This hotel is also very nice.

I’m exactly the opposite. I’ve never found any of her products to be more than just, well meh. But I definitely understand the pieces she designs now that I see them in the proper context, i.e. the Mandarin. They should not slap you in the face like a Dixon piece would in terms of instant gratification. I’ve never really liked a single piece of Patricia’s furniture when mixed with other designers, but when grouped together in a space such as this, I definitely appreciate them more.

Though still not an Urquiola fanatic, I definitely appreciate her work more now after seeing the hotel.
