yikes -- some people certainly work up a lot of passion (or anger) about a light fixture. Once I looked twice and realized that it was hanging in a shop window across the street from a two floored building, and not on the street outside of a two floored building, I liked it much more.

would it be a jot cooler if it were crocheted from recycled yarn and used a CFL bulb? Probably. Is it a novel craft, even as is? yes.

Ughhh! No beauty in here....it doesn't celebrate the art of light, this is just a overwrought shroud. My grandmother could crochet a more beautiful cover than this.

wonderful but wasteful; such long runs of cable will cause significant energy losses due to the current warming the cable; plus the cables are a highly engineered product containing copper and chemical coatings that are unnecessary to make a nice crochet; it's like buying lots of nice dinnerware so you can crush it and make interesting-looking gravel, or stacking 20 mirrors just to look at yourself in the top one
