The Berta Chair by Alexander Gufler
Austrian designer Alexander Gufler has created the Berta chair.
Alexander says:
In this shell chair the legs are held directly by the seat- and back shell. In combination with the substructure this parts become a stable unit. The intersection of the shells and legs results also into the armrest. The chair impresses with its easy-held outside and comfortable seating. Another focus has been laid on a low and good manufacturability. Berta is made from solid ash and ash veneered plywood.

Of all the furniture that has been posted here for a while, this is one of the best I have seen. Love the concept; the simplicity of structure, the saavy utilization of wood “types” (solid vs. ply), but mostly the lines. I really hope it is as comfortable to sit in as it is delightful to look at….I want a whole bunch of them at home! Any idea if they can be purchased?

The Wogg chair is similar, but it is not the same.

Perhaps an adaptation, … but the purity and refinement of this chair sets it apart! Understated-sexy.
Exotic veneers would be a nice option.

Looks also similar to the Rondo chair by Bene… Austrian brand.
