Love the breezeway that shoots through the house seamlessly connecting the front of the house to the rear yard/patio.
By the diminutive living room and indoor spaces and this houses situation on a relatively small island in the mediteranean that it is intended to be a vacation home and part time residence. It’s focus on the outdoor pool, patio and decks are strong indicators that outdoor living and entertaining is the primary goal here. Not that that excuses it from a certain lacking in its persona. I’ve also noted that almost every modern house featured on the island of Menorca looks the same. Like some white washed cubist subdivision. Though I love the vernacular and would live in any one of them in a minute, there does seem to be a lack of individuality.

The soul, warmth, and personality you talk about is easily provided by just adding furnishings and plants. These photos were obviously provided by the architect to show off the architecture. It’s not a photo shoot for Better Homes & Gardens magazine, but it could be if it wanted to.

Look at the architecture, that’s what’s important here, not the finishings. Anyone can add finishings later, that’s easy. Designing and building a house like this is what is rare and is what should be appreciated.

Its rather plain and void of any detail (or plant life), quite frankly very modern looking without much soul. I’d love to see interior pictures as that might reveal a ton of warmth and personality but as for the outside, its elegant and clean but thats about it… Sorry folks but it feels incomplete.
