The Kurven Chair by Cody Stonerock
Cody Stonerock, an Industrial Design student at the University of Cincinnati, was given 10 weeks to design and construct a chair, the result is the Kurven Chair seen here.

.
The leather seat can easily be attached or detached from the chair. The leather is sewn on each end into loops. The loops are attached by being placed through slots in the wood and anchored with a dowel rod. This allows for easy assembly and disassembly as well as multiple seat material options. The leather is backed with a canvas material to prevent stretching.

looks like a combo of an eames lcw and a wegner ch07 with some low-tech add ons. since leather will stretch quite a bit i wonder how it will look/feel after a year?

Great job. I wish I could have been there for the critique (I went to U. of Cincy as well).
Student furniture usually looks like student furniture. I’m really glad to see that the fit and finish (or maybe it is just some good photography angles) is better than normal student levels.

It looks very refined and sexy… Unfortunately I’m sure the the two sides of the bent ply seat pan will dig into your but, making it quite uncomfortable.. The two front legs would probably benefit from further apart, to make it more stable. Imagine if you wanted to sit on it from the side, if you lean forward or backward it would fall over…
Nonetheless fantastic student work… it would show some real professionalism to make another iteration
