At Salone del Mobile 2010 in Milan, Italian manufacturer Driade exhibited the NEMO chair that has been designed by the Italian architect Fabio Novembre.

For Milan Design Week 2010, New Zealand-based designer David Trubridge created an installation based on the story of Icarus, that was shown at Superstudio Piú.

Zuiver, a young Dutch design label, was one of the exhibitors of ‘Innovation-Imagination’, that took place at Superstudio Più as part of Milan Design Week 2010.

During Milan Design Week, the Berlin-based design agency e27 exhibited their LOLL table & lounge as well as the PIT lamps collection.

At this year’s SaloneSatellite show in Milan, we met the Japanese designers from Monochro Design Studio, who were exhibiting the Swing Pendant Light.

Contemporist went to the Eurocucina 2010 show in Milan, and we’ve got some photos of the various contemporary kitchens that were on display.

At this year’s SaloneSatellite show in Milan, we met German designer Simone Völcker of d.sign21, who was exhibiting the Papillon chaise longue.
Description from the designer:
Hundreds of butterflies are chasing each other. This graphical scenery creates the lounging space to sit in. The aesthetical lightness of the butterfly is transferred to the filigree realisation of the chaise longue.

Rottet Studio have designed the office interior for Artis Capital Management in San Francisco.

At this year’s SaloneSatellite show in Milan, we met Rodrigo Vairinhos of NEO Design, who was exhibiting his STAR Pendant Lamps.
STAR is a diamond shaped pendant lamp, inspired by Origami constructions. STAR features a composition of folded surfaces that are similar to the flexibility and lightness of paper. Lightness and flexibility also played an important role when it came to the material selection. 2mm aluminium plate was the raw material selected in order to create the whole structure.
The designer tried to concentrate his work on the light/shadow interaction between the core lighting bulb and the object itself, as it provides a reflection on its high glossy surfaces.

At this year’s SaloneSatellite show in Milan, we met Japanese designer Kei Senga, who was exhibiting the Iklips Sofa (aka. Eclipse Sofa). Iklips has two layers of foam with a middle layer of clear-acrylic that allows light to shine through from the other side.
