6a Brockton House by Cecconi Simone
This modern urban infill residence in Toronto, Canada, was designed by and for its owner, Elaine Cecconi, a partner in the Canadian design firm Cecconi Simone.

Discretely tucked away along a quiet residential lane, the four storey home affords every amenity in a sleek and utterly unique structure detailed with the finest attention to materials. The home was designed to mimic an industrial warehouse or factory, echoed in the stucco’s utilitarian lines and the factory windows on the front façade.
While widely recognized in the press, the home’s award-winning interiors are a timeless example of the clean modern aesthetic of designers Cecconi Simone. The extensive use of Corian, honed concrete floors and Brazilian Ipe speak to the durability of the residence, while clever room dividers, abundant storage and the oversized kitchen respond to the needs of everyday living. The flexible floorplan provides up to 4 bedrooms, and can easily be adapted for creative or professional use.
The home is currently for sale through Paul Johnston – here.

I was going to comment that the interiors looked ‘staged’ but then read at the end that the house is up for sale.

This is a showroom, not a home. Completely joyless.
But I am sure the sale will go well.

I would like to live here….forever.

I think it’s a gorgeous interior. Designers have to design to sell sometimes, and this is done exceptionally well.

I’m with TW. No surprises here, pretty cookie-cutter W Hotel modern. In need of some flavor.

Dosen’t the fireplace provide excessive heat to the TV?

Well designed, I especially love the living area with the stunning fireplace. And the bathroom, too!

My favorite detail is the minimalist storage creating the headboard and lighted side table space. Also a very nice job incorporating the television into the black fireplace wall.

I’m in love with this house and especially those lights in the dining room/kitchen – any idea who’s those are?
TW on 19 May 2010 at 5:54 am #
carrie leber – the lights are the Bertjan Pot lights designed for Moooi circa 2000. Sadly, you can buy rip-offs from even the cheapest suburban lighting shops these days.
