Players Lounge Seating by The Mighty Bearcats
While we were in Chicago for the 2010 NeoCon show, we visited an exhibition of experimental and independent designers, where we saw this seating. We were told that it was created by a design group called The Mighty Bearcats.

Gimmicky. Silly. Uncomfortable. Impractical.
But it is experimental so great fun and great concept.

Does anyone else see smores?
Hmmm… giant smores!

Very unusual use of the pillows. It looks like the kind of seating that you would use if you didn’t want people overstay their visit. I would feel sorry for the person who slid of the end…ouch!

Alright… Dave, have you tried to sit on it or only took a few pics? It looks kind of nice, in an arty way, but really, why would anyone fancy using a straight board for a sofa? Next step will be the bed of nails

I didn’t sit on it, because it looks like it could pop. I didn’t see anyone else sit on them either.

totally thought they were smores… and yes, i bet if someone tried to sit on it they would instantly face-plant.

Dear people that take time to comment on design website posts,
I swore I would never be one of you because you know what they say opinions are like… And they all stink…
Anyway, I had to speak up because I had a hand in creating these benches. (Not Sofas)
They were originally created for a fashion show which was a very temporary event. Just a few hours. So were asked for cheap knock down seating. We made these benches from Dunage bags which are generally inflated between pallets in the back of trucks to fill extra space and keep things from moving around. They are incredibly strong worked perfectly for our needs. In fact I saw up to 10 people sitting on one of these benches with no problems. We sat 100 people with seating that fit easily in the back of my car.
The show that these pics are from was a one night pop up design show also and people sat on them all night…..? Thanks to whoever posted these entirely out of context photos….
