There is only one thing, that they do not mention. It is me, who designed this cut-out structure while working for i29 interior architects last year. The dining table is from Hay, right? Can you tell me the length of table? It looks like it’s longer than 180cm. I was just wondering, since I want to purchase the same one. The Magis chairs fit this table very nice, though the table appears to be very big.

Love the lightness and the clean lines of the interior. Could use just a splash of color maybe? Not a lot, just a bit. Otherwise, I think it’s quite beautiful!

I really want to know more details about he flooring. It is so seamless and a matte texture. If it is epoxy what kind is it. Is is water based?

People always say that minimalism costs more, so would it be possible to know what what the construction price per square foot/meter of the project was versus a “conventional” dwelling of similar size in that region? It’s a gorgeous space.

I’m the owner of the house and I can tell you: this apartment doesn’t only photograph breathtakingly well, it also ‘lives’ breathtakingly well. Even with our two small children. As you might understand; the house doen’t always look as clean as it does in the pics. Normally there are plenty of toys on the floor and plenty of sand and mud. They even bike in the living romm (black rubber wheels!). No problem with this floor. Also very practical: the kids have their bedrooms on the same floor as the living room and kitchen. So we never have to drag them upstairs. Unless we want to go to our marvellous roof terrace (not featured in these pics)… What more do you want as a family of 4?
I think it’s just a clichee to think white is impossible to live in.
Bad architects make ‘magazines houses’; i29 made us a well designed, very beautiful and very practical family house.

I enjoy the minimal(ist) approach to surface treatment and have no problems with the family putting their toys and clothing away. I just wish the dialogue between the textures- the smooth white wall and the wood paneling – had extended vertically, being that the opportunity existed, and that the natural light surprise had not been limited to the stair hall.

Isn’t Minimalism a little 1990′s?

This apartment photographs breathtakingly well and will feature in many magazines in the next year or so because it is conceptually interesting. But practical for a family of 4 it is not. Children? Black school shoes? On white floors? I don’t think so…

And whilst white is ‘light and airy’, studies have also found white to be one of the least restful solutions for interiorscapes.
