Pile Isle Bamboo Bench by Elena Goray
Dutch designer Elena Goray, in cooperation with CONBAM, a bamboo distributor in Germany, has created the Pile Isle bamboo bench.
A bundle of brown bamboo poles is strapped together in smart and simple way. Just 4 belts of stainless steel are keeping the shape – no screw and no glue is necessary.

nice, but possible only in northern europe and a tiny minority of other places where creepie-crawlies are few

hZ!….LOL….I was thinking the exact same thing! It’s a “critter condo”.

Cute but dumb. As an Australian, I just see this as a hiding place for RedBack Spiders.
Plus, without glues how can I be guaranteed that this is completely stable? I can imagine that the rods will shift when people sit down/get up and it would be pretty easy to catch some flesh between those crevises. Ouch!

i hate when people just talks shit about some work. i feel sorry for them, most of them are just ignorants. i think it’s a pretty cool design.
i would just give it a little bit more work on the simple ergonomic part.
PS: you can give the materials some treatments so that “creepie-crawlies” don’t get near the furniture.
congrats!
