I really have a love hate relationship with furniture built this way. I love the look of many layers of plywood laminated together like this, but I hate that it is so wasteful.
The fact that every piece is milled on a CNC machine means that you are losing 1/2-3/4″ (depending on size of the bit) all the way around every piece that simply goes up in sawdust. And when you do pieces like the ends (of the table or the chair) you have a tremendous amount of waste. You can only get one or two pieces out of an entire 4×8 sheet of plywood. Some of that waste can be used to make the inner supporting ribs – but still, a lot of waste.

Pretty stuff, but…..please people, stop the green washing. Plywood is not “eco-friendly”. It is insulting to the consumer to call it green. It is about as green as concrete. The best one can hope for is a no added formaldehyde FSC certified ply, which is still not really eco friendly, just better. Is this a no added formaldehyde ply or just the standard american harvested birch shipped to china to be laminated into birch ply being called green?
