BBC Worldwide Office Interior by Thoughtspace
Australian design studio Thoughtspace have completed the interior design for BBC Worldwide’s office in Sydney, Australia.

.
Description from the designers:
Thoughtspace took two geographically separate BBC Worldwide offices and created a dynamic 2000m² workplace in Macquarie Park. Eden Park Drive media precinct was the perfect fit for the evolving global media organisation. BBC Worldwide’s new headquarters boasts a large expanse of office-free open plan environment peppered with a variety of working lounges and alternative activity based working areas. The organisation believed that there needed to be a element of ‘fun’ introduced into the typical workplace in addition to the functional aspects of commercial interior design. thoughtspace worked closely with the marketing and communications team to develop a design and workplace strategy for the new facility. These brainstorming sessions resulted in the primary design driver being a celebration of the BBC Worldwide global brands. The outcome includes impressive front of house facilities, state of the art media and AV facilities, quirky themed meeting rooms, numerous creative work and meeting hubs and a dynamic workplace environment capable of supporting the organisations future growth strategies. In addition, significant environmental graphic backdrops brought these brands to life and successfully represent BBC Worldwide’s identity as a prominent and dynamic media company.

hideous interiors – looks to me to be a great example of ‘design by committee’ – giving everyone involved an equal opportunity to stamp their personal ‘quirks’ on the spaces.
fake grass and cutout trees ? seriously ?

Wow, are they all five years old? This looks like a daycare facility.

Now we know what our licence fees get spent on – certainly not producing programmes. Also explains why the BBC has been told to make massive cuts…

Not the type of thing I usually like but as a meeting/thinking area I think it’s great. You’d probably tire of it quite quickly but then it looks like it would be easy to change the feel of it quite dramatically but quite easily.

Get your facts right, berk. BBC Worldwide is a commercial operation.

Awful! People are supposed to work there? Can anyone find more colors to add or funky shapes? Besides the number of different furniture styles used.
I am really sorry for the people that will have to live with.
