This is one of the most interesting and creative lamps I’ve seen in a few months.

I find the walls far more interesting than the light itself. If it wasn’t a bright colour, it would be totally lost.

That’s a trifecta ” POST IT” art + architecture + fro-zen music all in one…!!!

The light is clumsy and uninteresting but that wall is amazing.

I love the lamp, it will surely be one of their most popular designs.

wow it’s amazing lamp.love the idea and the color

I agree that the wall is a far more interesting application of the idea than the lampshade. The lampshade looks a bit diy…

The veneer is an amazing material for lighting objects. The wall shows the basic idea.

Lzf have managed to find another good use of wood veneer.
I like both the lamp AND the wall.

Screw the lamp! Check out that wall!!! It would make a good stage backdrop.

it’s an amazing installation, the light by itself would be just crafty

I love the material he used, very innovative and light.
The veneer cut sheets almost look like resin.. also looks like ‘capiz’
which we use to create really nice lanterns here in the Philippines

It took two months to find the exact sequence of squares, one that would look good both switched on and switched off. The wall designed by marivi calvo was produced expressly to promote the armadillo and give it the perfect backdrop during the exhibition. Thank you to those of you who liked it, we are so amazed at the reaction we’re getting.

Amazing as that exhibit looks, I’d say it’s a failure. The walls completely and utterly overshadow the lamps. It’s a textbook example of details detracting from the focus.
I mean, don’t get me wrong. It looks just damn excellent. I love it. But I love the walls more than the lamps in this particular space, and therein lies the problem.
That said, Lzf really ought to consider developing that illuminated veneer wall treatment further and releasing it as a commercial product. Make this exhibit into a family of products.
