BL House by Studio Guilherme Torres
Studio Guilherme Torres have designed the BL House in Londrina, Brazil.

.
Description from the architect:
Adapting the house structure to a narrow lot in a condominium in Londrina, Brazil was the greatest challenge of this building designed by Guilherme Torres. In order to take advantage of the natural characteristics of the land in relation to its neighbours, the house was partially lowered in the social area, where it recedes 5m from the street. This receding provided the environs with abundance of natural light with the bonus of privacy in both the social and leisure areas.
The structures of the house hide their actual functions, making it look serene as well as impressive. Its elongated structure is parted by a wood box. Within the wood box one can find the stairwell and the main entrance on one side and the service area entrance on the other side. As the doors and the structure have been wainscoted, they become appropriately concealed in the composition. The garage has a gentle slope paved with stones, giving the structure an elegant look.
Wood, stone and masonry work are conspicuous in the whole house. The structures were designed and built in with concrete and metal structures, which made the house lighter. The living area was sealed with glass and aluminium, yet integrating it with the swimming pool. The brick pillars were coated with sisal rope, material which is abundantly found in Brazil. The project allocates the spaces in a linear form, and all the bedrooms have French windows overlooking the leisure area. The home-theatre above the garage holds a winter garden providing the couple with privacy.

Ok once again I have to ask the question as to what is real and what is not? There is no correlation between the inside images and the outside images and the outside. These images have been at least ‘touched-up’ with photoshop or completely generated in a 3D package. There is a huge difference between ‘built work’ and unbuilt work. Of course I could be wrong. But I would prefer to see the real thing ‘warts an’ all’.

Everything is real, and not retouched. I have been deciced, with the photografer, to create a surreal sky. So, the take those shot during the sunset. Thats the reason for the contrasts. I love architecture with drama!
Kind regards for all!

@Kim M….There are some with the talent and innate ability to design & create without “warts”. I think such is the case with Mr. Torres. The more I see of his work, the more I’m impressed with the command of his craft particularly at his young age.
I don’t see the “disconnect” or “suspicious” presentation you allege that exists. This is an excellent opportunity to observe and learn.

Im doing 3d architecture-things for years and i’m pretty sure that all these pictures looks a lot like completly cg generated. So i would bet they are! Maybee this doesnt matter. So nice work anyway. On my opinion the plans are a bit introvert in some areas.

Very good dialogue between volumes and materials. It is, overall a very expressive work with simple forms.
I sometimes dislike this “pure-volumed” architecture because i feel it with no emotion, but in your case, the material choice made the spirit alive.
It is also well done the relation with the surroundings.
Congratulations, Guilherme.
