I like the sculptural quality of the facade. I do not like the space planning and furnishings however. It’s a jumble of disjointed areas and style.
Why is the dining table 1 mile away from the kitchen? Is a big square table more practical than a big rectangular one?
How many living rooms/dens/sitting areas do you need?
But this setup probably works for the homeowners, so I will shut up.

I hope the glass is bullet proof.

Nice house, very accommodating. I believe some machine-gun turrets in the upstairs terraces would make it a safer home in Juarez.

Wonderful layout, big bright spaces, clean cut and neatly designed. Really liked the patio (water and pebbles) not so thrilled about the dark hardwood floors.
There are so many interesting postings from Mexico, Brazil, South America and the States. I would truly like to see more postings coming in from Europe (north and south), Asia and the Middle East.

I just found this website and I love the buildings shown and the images are good showing plans and elevations, but it would be nice to have to information on the building like materials use, cost, project area and a bit about the team

Yet another good rendering with a ‘site under construction’ this is not a built work. Please declare unbuilt work..
Hector on 22 Nov 2010 at 9:43 pm #
These are not renderings. This is a real house.

Beautiful architecture, but the interior design is a great dissapointment. It is close to a chromatic disaster in my opinion.

Brrr
so cold
too “clean”
dosn’t feel like home
just a big showroom

Very beautiful external work! But the interior design is simple and standard, there aren’t elements of renovation or innovation! Great project but I think that the work of an architect is complete when exist a dialogue from internal ad external of house. It could be better!

once again I am amazed of the lack of attention put into furnishings. I would donate all of this to charity & start over. Looks o.k. from the curb

Pretty nice architecture in Mexico , i have seen this studio published before in some magazines ,they have very cool projects all over .Congrats
Nelly Busquets on 24 Nov 2010 at 11:33 am #
I agree , i have seen many great projects in Mexico and South America ,like this one , some people think that a third world country would not have good architecture, but they do ,……good for arcquitecture and movimento!

Hated almost everything here, from the terrible angled porch, the three living rooms in the first plan, the marble floors, the dark wooden floors, the white light from the lobby framing the access door, the ‘paper’ blinds, the wine cellar outside the floor plan (unless its actually a narco tunnel)… and hey! look at the childs room! the whole project its lifeless… maybe it reflects Juarez more than a turret machine-gun. (I did like the stairs and the tv room above the garage)
John Raynolds on 24 Nov 2010 at 9:06 pm #
I think Ricardo hasn’t the slightest idea of what he’s talking about , I guess you are not an architect your comments are just full of jealousy ,you don’t even know how to read a floor plan , You may dislike a project but trashing a project without any idea, just for fun, is being very stupid.
I do like the project it looks magnificent , I hope Ricardo someday can afford a house half as nice as this one. cheers
Ricardo de A on 25 Nov 2010 at 7:52 am #
First of all, my mistake about the wine cellar… second: no im not an architect, im just saying what i think about the project as a potential owner… if I had enough money to buy a house like that, i think i could spend them very well in a better house… with better interior design, with a more practical planning… Why would I want a living room by the kitchen and the dining table 30yards away of it?… Its not jealousy John, else i would be spamming every project on this website just because i cant afford them
Miss Honey on 25 Nov 2010 at 12:40 pm #
there are just not enough sitting areas~~~
Anyways, the only thing i like about this project, is the facade. Certainly, Nothing we haven’t seen before But i think it’s well-designed.
@ Ricardo de A. Perhaps the owners wanted the dining room to be located between the public areas of the house. I guess it works when you like to throw a lot of parties.

I think it looks great!!!
*Gal
you just want the typical Doll House with two rocking chairs outside.
What is the problem with people always wanting the same lame traditional houses

Perfect. An amazing mix of home, entertainment and workspace. I could only dream of calling such brilliance my abode.

….. thing is that the client´s needs where fulfilled , and he´s happy with the outcome, sometimes us architects dont want to change things of our original project and expect that the client respects this and hope to make no changes, truth is, they do makes changes many times for worse,,, in this particular project many changes where done (im not saying im not happy with the outcome i love it ), because of many reasons ,(budget, taste, wife, kids, neighbors, etc) everybody thinks as them selves as a self taught architect so they emit all kinds of opinions (doctors and lawyers dont have to put up with this ) so i understand and sometimes agree with many of the opinions above.
ill keep doing architectural projects ……………………..hasta pronto
Ricardo de A on 03 Dec 2010 at 6:33 pm #
(many changes were done… because of many reasons… (incl. wife)) HA!… i understand… if they are happy with it… if the project suits their needs, then i think its a good solution… maybe I can ask for a home (three times smaller) with different needs and trust your initial solutions
