The Kinema Pendant Luminaire by Stuart Fingerhut
American designer Stuart Fingerhut has created the Kinema Pendant Luminaire.

.
Stuart says:
The Kinema pendant luminaire is unique in its ability to give the user control of the light’s character to match the mood or the environment. Each of the pendant’s rings can be individually flipped to create dramatic light and shadow effects, as a single object or in multiples.

Beautiful, like a living thing. A complex design simply executed. A luminaire Occam would have wanted…lux parsimoniae!

Very organic. It looks like an insect or a primordial tropical plant.
The idea is relatively simple but the effect is amazingly complex. Excellent work.

Lamps like these existed in the 60s & 70s. Nothing new about this – in fact it’s quite cheap.
