The Volumptuous Sideboard by Edward Johnson
British designer/woodworker Edward Johnson has created the Volumptuous sideboard.
The sideboard will be on display as part of the 21st Century Furniture III exhibition (March 22nd to May 1st) at the Millinery Works gallery in London.

a quick moment of “wow, that’s cool”
then you realize “wow, that’s a lot of work for something i’d never want to have”
it’s too distracting, and offers little use other then a bit of shock-value as a piece of furniture.
Can’t place anything on it, it lacks hardware making it look cumbersome to try and open, it wouldn’t line up to about 95% of other furniture…
Sorry, but this just doesn’t make sense as a piece of furniture.

I imagine a generic sideboard has been created in a 3D CAD program. Then it has been distorted with some cheap effects (warp, pinch, ripple) that can be found in these software programs. Not really a well designed object.
