Ninety7 @ Siglap by Aamer Architects
Aamer Architects have designed the “Ninety7 @ Siglap” house in Singapore.

.
Description from the architects:
Magnificent views towards the city from atop Siglap Hill inspired the design. Master and family room are placed on the third level having the best views.
Living and Dining on the second level, connected with external verandahs / terraces that flow upwards and fold into the roof form with deep overhangs for sufficient shade and channeling the breeze through the whole house.
Two resort style ‘Cabana’ bedrooms are located on the ground level by the pool with a large open/covered terrace for poolside parties. A sculptural metal ‘drum’ anchors the ‘ship’ to the ground and houses the toilet/shower and barbeque pantry.
Roof gardens and timber decks provide added insulation from the sun.

Although I’m not crazy about curves, this luxury yaught-house is really interesting. As an architectural concept it flows well and it is finely executed.

Very interesting concept. I like most of the interior exept the tiles in the bathrooms. I never liked those tiny colorful tiles for any place. Makes it look “dirty” to me.

I really love the style of the house. It’s has a lovely feel to me.
I find a few things rather strange though, and perhaps it’s just a cultural thing:
1. The master bedroom upstairs is separated from its ensuite and wardrobe. Not convenient if you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.
2. The kitchen is closed off from the rest of the living areas. If I was entertaining I’d like to see my guests from the ‘heart’ of the home.
I still like it overall though.

@PD to answer your concerns, yes I deliberated a long time on the distance too. I decided the walk was acceptable because the primary concern was not to wake up the partner when I flushed or showered. This creates a much more peaceful sleep environment for the light sleeper.
As for the Kitchen, it is a “cultural thing” as the heavy asian cooking with oils and spices might be too smelly for guests and the worst thing, I feel, is to leave your guest with that lingering smell on the clothes. But I agree with you on entertaining and seeing your guests so I made sure the kitchen does open up to the “deck” and the doorway is as large as we can make it and the floor to ceiling window faces the dining room. We tried to “increase” the kitchen area this way.
