Fabbrica Bergen by Tjep
Dutch design studio Tjep, designed some interior elements for the Fabbrica restaurant in Bergen, The Netherlands.
.
Description from Tjep:
We designed several elements for Restaurant Fabbrica in Bergen: the lovely train cabins with a new look and feel as compared to the ones we made for Fabbrica Rotterdam, a larger Pizza Oven covered with beautiful Bisazza tiles, and the very industrial wood containers that hold all the wood to fuel the oven and all the electricity to fuel the lights!

Very beautiful and well crafted.
I like the recess for the Chandelier’s too!
Nice touch!
Sadly, if you tried this concept in the US-
you’d have the Americans With Disabilities Act people all over you for “lifts”/elevators too!

Those mini chandeliers look utterly ridiculous in that setting.

Everything is muddled together. It’s not working for me.

I like some things about this and dont like somethings
Things I like include – its different and takes daring to design and execute such a design, in addition the client has to be really bold and experiment loving.
The industrial log stacks look good and creatively done. The seating at different levels encourage people to be choosy about where they would like to sit, which means it can leave them with a feeling of coming back to the this eating place, ofcourse the food has to be good!
What I do not like the way steps are designed and I wish the vertical rod on the tables was absent and the tables were directly cantilevered. I also feel the decor is not well thought of in details. Could have been much better!
But no taking aways it is a sincere attempt.
