Buildings as art! It needs to be done more often. Example the Gierken in London, all this building needs is a good name to anchor it in our brain

The pattern of the windows is great but the overall shape of the building is not. A more modest form would have been better.

Instantly iconic.

Stunning!!!!
Windows definitely sourced from Ericsons building on Georgia street in Vancouver.

I live near this building and in real life it is totally awful. It absolutely dominates the surrounding neigbourhoods and absolutely doesn’t go well with the that same neigbourhoods.
It looks acceptable from the views as seen in the photographs but the backside for instance ( where the balconies are) is a mess and looks like a design residu for which they didn’t have a solutions.
There was a design competition for this location which resulted in 5 designs and sure enough: the worst solution was picked out!
( I was fortunate enough to also see the other designs)
The local government picked this “landmark” to compete with other region of the city of Den Haag to have a tall building.
Other designs were more low-key and more integrated into the surrounding neighbourhood thus better suited for this location with a lot of social housing from the 50′s and 60′s no higher than 5 levels.
This is just a tall building on a rather bland square standing out like a sore thumb!
p.s. This building was allready finished 1,5 years ago so I had a lot of time to contemplate on this!

beautiful city marker!…inviting public condition at groundplane. pity about ‘pimple’ projecting on top…needs to blend or have stronger personality.

This is a beautiful building, and a magnificent addition to any city.
@Reinier- If all buildings had “modest forms”, imagine how boring architecture and cities would be. It is buildings like this that define cities and even countries.

A grand leap of faith that is rare in architecture. Personally, I would love to see more owners being bold with expressing their brand.
