INNOCAD Architektur have designed Microsoft’s new headquarters in Vienna, Austria.

ARGE KOOP/INNOCAD emerged as winners in the architecture competition for Microsoft’s new headquarters in Vienna, held on the basis of the WPA concept.
Working in close collaboration with the Microsoft project team during the subsequent project realisation phase, the team of architects assumed responsibility for the overall design of the new Microsoft working environment as construction supervisors and project managers. The architects commented: “Our aim is to intertwine and harmonise physical, virtual and social working environments.”

I’m so glad that I don’t work at Microsoft Vienna, that flooring would have me hurling and collapsing everyday and the meeting rooms look like psychedelic interrogation chambers. Horrible horrible space!

not an armrest anywhere. Looks like a typical architects vision that is pretty impractical for 10-hour per day workers.
What is funny is that the place where actual work is being done is a blinding white room and featureless tables without any ergonomics or color. All the fancy stuff looks to be for the visiting dignitaries and the actual workers don’t even get a cubicle – just a few feet of generic table that doesn’t even have cable management!
