I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, portuguese design is growing very fast and it’s currently one of my favourites. I follow all of the new tendencies very closely and especially Portugal’s. Very interesting and innovative ideas brew there and the people are becoming braver, so they venture out internationally.
However this project doesn’t feel very portuguese, apart maybe from the fact that it was integrated in a somewhat rural area – which I think Aveiro is. I noticed some of the contemporary design there meddles often in this ‘very new in very old’ scenario.
