The design of these hangers is solving a problem we didn't know existed

Frustrated with how little space he had in his dorm room closet, Drew Cleaver was motivated to design a solution without changing the closet itself.

After looking at his coat hangers, he realized that they were taking up a lot of vertical space, and wondered why they were designed like this. After much research, he realized there was no reason for it, other than ‘this is how they have always been designed’.

His idea was to take a traditional coat hanger, like the one above, and make it so that the clothes would sit higher.

Here is a look at his first prototype he created in his dorm room.

Below you can see how the new design of the hanger has been changed to provide a lower profile, allowing the clothes to hang higher, giving you more room at the bottom of your closet.

They’re calling it the Higher Hanger for obvious reasons.

The Higher Hanger also has a non-slip velvety finish, which is perfect for items that always slip off traditional plastic hangers.

They’ve also designed a solid wood hanger that is more suitable for heavier clothes, like coats.
