This origami-like measuring spoon lays flat and folds to 4 different sizes

Polygons is a set of two measuring spoons that lie flat when not in use and fold in an origami-like fashion depending on where you pick them up. Each spoon can be picked up one of four ways allowing for 8 different measuring sizes.

Open just about any kitchen drawer and you’re bound to find a collection of measuring spoons taking up a good portion of the drawer. You’re probably thinking, “of course there are, how else would you measure your cooking or baking ingredients?”

Well, a new Kickstarter project from designer, inventor, and teacher Rahul Agarwal sets out to banish the bulky measuring spoons.

Depending on how you pick it up, each spoon folds up to determine the volume of the spoon and returns to its flat position when you let go of it.

The spoons are BPA free and are made from polypropylene (PP), a thermoplastic polymer known for it’s durability, and thermoplastic rubber (TPR), a soft stretchy material with elastic properties.

The use of these materials means that the spoons are built to last and are better for the environment than the thick plastic spoons found in most kitchens.

The flatness of Polygons makes them super quick to clean, easy to store, and eliminates the need for multiple clunky measuring spoons taking up valuable space in kitchen drawers.
