28 Pendant Lamps by Omer Arbel

Canadian designer Omer Arbel has created the 28 series of pendant lamps for BOCCI.

28 is a result of a glass blowing technique developed by Omer Arbel whereby air is intermittently blown in and then sucked out of an intermittently heated and then cooled glass matrix. The result is a distorted spherical shape with a composed collection of inner shapes, one of which houses a low voltage lamp.

28 pendants are designed to cluster in hexagonal shapes which nestle into each other to create patterns as dictated by the needs of the interior.

Standard 28 pendants are made in clear, white and frosted glass (with several other standard colour schemes contemplated in future months). However, 28 is a design which lends itself to infinite compositions and gradations of colour. Bocci’s glass atelier in Vancouver thrives on bespoke work and is able to work with our clients with great versatility on custom colour compositions to match the vistion and needs of a project or interior.

Gulp by Tim Fishlock

British designer Tim Fishlock has created Gulp.

Tim says:

Gulp is three thousand translucent drinking straws interwoven to form a dense, spherical lampshade. Made from one continuous length of interconnected straws, you could – if you possessed Dyson-like suction – put one end in a drink and gulp it down through the other. Each piece takes seven days to make and is made to order.

Jackie Su Restaurant Interior by RAUMINRAUM

German design studio RAUMINRAUM designed the interior of the Jackie Su Thai restaurant in Bremen, Germany.

“Urban street Kitchen” is the motto of the small restaurant in Bremen’s city centre. We transported the asian street kitchen character into a contemporary and clear interior architecture. High fair-faced concrete walls with the artwork presenting a smiling Jackie Su, bright red Asian characters as well as the large suspended acoustic ceilings and unclad air-conditioning ducts emphasise the urban ambience.
