Denmark based furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen has introduced the Alphabet modular sofa into their 2008 Autumn/Winter Collection.
The sofa, designed by Piero Lissoni, is inspired by toy Lego bricks, and consists of a series of ‘soft building blocks’ enabling you to build and create your own sofa design. Piero Lissoni, an Italian architect and designer, describes the concept as something similar to that of the alphabet. “All the elements of the sofa are like letters and you are free to create your own words.” There are 4 modular elements to the sofa; the seat, backrest, armrest and cushions. The elements can be put together in an endless variety of combinations and angles and is available in leather or fabric upholstery.
