The Button Collection by John Reeves

January 31, 2013

John Reeves of REEVESdesign has created the Button Collection.

Description from the designer

The Button collection re-appropriates the familiar clothes fastener to form oversized, solid semantic handles. Turned in solid FSC American white oak the button handles punctuate and characterise an honest (in it’s truth to materials way), humble and modest theme to a durable yet effortless range of case goods. The oak is given a deep sandblast and then treated with either a carbonised black finish or an alternative natural oak.

The strong brass hinges on the cabinet and wardrobe act as a detail of robustness, continuing to echo a timeless theme in their bull nosed machine- turned finish.

Button is a range designed to be as durable as it is timeless, creating depth and texture in the room without screaming for attention; it is worth noting that this was designed as a compliment to the Upcycled Marble series of tables that were launched to great acclaim last October.
