Sustainable Materials for Remote Living
The cabin’s construction uses sustainably sourced Australian hardwoods, chosen for their durability, accessibility, and eco-friendly qualities. The remote location meant the materials had to be easy to handle on site by a two-person team, highlighting practical, thoughtful design without compromising on style.
An ‘A’ Frame Inspired by Nature
The hut takes inspiration from a classic ‘A’ frame tent, creating a form that provides shelter while maintaining a strong connection to the outdoors. Inside, the windows follow the structural lines of the hut, drawing light into the small living area. A black freestanding wood burner keeps the space warm on chilly nights, while louvre windows allow fresh air to flow on warmer days.
