In ?stanbul’s Beykoz district, a loft apartment takes on a new purpose. The Awakening Center was conceived by personal development consultant Basak Akseki Dogan and brought to life by interiors firm Renda Helin Design, creating a space focused on emotional clarity and slower, more intentional living.

A Loft Framed by Forest Views
From the moment you step inside, the surrounding forest becomes part of the space. Views stretch across every angle, softening the edges of the interior and blending it with something more organic. This connection is reinforced through materials. Raw stone and natural wood appear throughout, creating a tactile, honest backdrop that feels unpolished in the best way.
Light, shadow, and texture are allowed to exist side by side without overpowering one another. The result is a calm, open atmosphere that feels both welcoming and purposeful.

Architecture as a Reflection of Growth
The design moves beyond aesthetics and leans into symbolism. High ceilings draw the eye upward, hinting at potential and possibility. A tall, curved wall stretches toward the ceiling, balancing strength with flexibility through its form.

The color palette stays light, with whites and soft pastels opening up the space visually. Instead of relying on bold contrasts, the design shifts attention to texture. Woven fabrics, raw timber, and marble surfaces bring depth and variation, encouraging a more sensory experience.
Greenery is used with intention, adding life and enhancing the effect of natural light. The overall feeling is airy, yet grounded through materiality.

Throughout the space, sculptural elements add another layer of meaning. Wooden figures representing a woman, man, and child introduce themes of experience, resilience, and adaptability.

In another area of the apartment, a full-height wood library with lighting, becomes a focal point, pointing to knowledge as an ongoing process, something built step by step over time.

Details That Shape the Experience
Much of the furniture has been custom designed to fit the concept. Pieces from Enne and HAM Design complement the layout, while carefully chosen objects from Zara Home, Chakra, and Enza Home add subtle character.
Sound and scent are also part of the design language. A Bang & Olufsen Beolit 20 speaker supports the atmosphere, while lavender, chamomile, and sandalwood scents introduce another sensory layer. Together, these elements move the space beyond visual design into something more immersive.

A Space Built on Balance
What sets The Awakening Center apart is how it brings together contrasts without tension. Strength and softness, structure and fluidity, openness and intimacy all sit within the same environment.
It’s a space that doesn’t rely on one defining feature. Instead, it builds its identity through a series of quiet decisions that, together, create a cohesive and memorable interior.
