Designed by Neuman Hayner Architects, this modern home combines minimalist interiors with a layout focused on outdoor living. Spread across three separate wings, the house divides public and private areas while linking them together through gardens, pathways, and open-air entertaining spaces.
The architecture uses bamboo, black metal, glass, and timber to create a warm contemporary look that flows from the front yard to the backyard pool area. Each section of the home opens toward outdoor spaces, giving the entire property an open and relaxed atmosphere.

A Poolside Pergola Designed for Outdoor Living
At the rear of the home is a swimming pool paired with an outdoor entertaining space covered by a bamboo pergola supported by a black metal structure. The pergola creates shade while helping the outdoor living and dining areas feel connected to the architecture of the home.
White curtains can be drawn across the pergola for additional shade and privacy, giving the poolside area a softer and more relaxed atmosphere. The combination of bamboo, black steel, and light fabric adds warmth and texture to the modern exterior.

A Shaded Pathway Connects the Entire Home
The bamboo pergola doesn’t stop at the backyard. It continues from the front entrance all the way through the property, forming a shaded pathway that links the different outdoor spaces together.
This long pergola visually connects the front yard, interior spaces, and pool area while also helping guide movement through the home. The repeated use of bamboo adds consistency across the entire design.

Let’s take a look at the rest of the home…
Outdoor Spaces Start at the Front Entrance
At the front of the home, a low wall creates privacy while enclosing a landscaped front yard. Within this space is another outdoor lounge and dining area, adding even more room for entertaining and relaxing outside.
The front yard gives the entrance a welcoming feel and continues the home’s focus on indoor-outdoor living long before reaching the backyard pool area.

Bamboo Screens Frame the Entrance
Bamboo screens positioned around the entrance act as a rain cover for the black front door while also adding texture to the facade. These screens continue through the interior and toward the backyard, helping create visual continuity throughout the home.
The natural bamboo contrasts with the dark metal details and black accents, softening the minimalist architecture and adding warmth to the overall design.

A Great Room With Black and Wood Details
Inside, the front door opens directly into a large open-plan great room. The dining area includes a wood dining table paired with black chairs that match the black window frames and pendant lighting overhead.
The mix of timber and black accents creates a clean contemporary palette that feels modern without appearing overly formal.

Sliding Glass Doors Open the Living Room Outdoors
At one end of the great room is the living area, where large sliding glass doors open directly to the outdoor entertaining spaces. The expansive openings help blur the line between inside and outside.
Natural light fills the room throughout the day, while the direct access to the terraces and pool area makes the living room feel like part of the outdoor spaces.

A Minimalist Kitchen With Dark Finishes
At the opposite end of the great room is the kitchen, designed with minimalist black cabinetry, black countertops, and warm wood accents. The darker finishes tie in with the black details used throughout the rest of the home.
The simple layout and restrained material palette keep the kitchen looking sleek and uncluttered while still feeling warm and inviting.

A Bedroom That Opens to the Outdoors
The primary bedroom also connects directly to the outdoor spaces, continuing the home’s strong indoor-outdoor relationship. Large openings allow views toward the garden and pool areas while bringing natural light into the room.
This connection to the exterior helps the bedroom feel open and airy while maintaining privacy within its own section of the home.

Bathrooms With Black and Wood Accents
The ensuite bathroom includes a freestanding bathtub, a black accent wall, and a glass-enclosed shower. The dark finishes continue the modern palette used throughout the rest of the house.

Another bathroom uses similar tones but introduces a floating wood vanity paired with a mirror featuring integrated LED lighting, adding warmth to the minimalist design.

A Powder Room Full of Color
Unlike the neutral palette used throughout much of the home, the powder room introduces a bold splash of color with yellow wallpaper decorated with flowers and hummingbirds.
The vibrant wallpaper is paired with a minimalist pedestal sink and black shelving, creating a playful contrast against the home’s darker modern finishes.

A Separate Wing for Guests
The home also includes a separate wing containing a loft bedroom, living room, and kitchenette. This self-contained area provides extra privacy and flexibility for guests.
The three-wing layout helps separate entertaining areas from quieter private spaces while still keeping the entire home visually connected through its outdoor pathways and shared materials.

With bamboo pergolas, multiple outdoor entertaining areas, and minimalist interiors filled with warm natural materials, Neuman Hayner Architects created a modern home that balances open social spaces with private living areas.
