Designed by Kaliyeva Aidana Manarbekovna of AiShera Design Bureau, this family apartment in Kazakhstan was created for a household of five that was preparing to welcome a new member. The brief was simple but meaningful, create a home that feels bright, inviting, and comfortable for every person who lives there.
From the beginning, the project focused on creating an atmosphere that feels welcoming from the moment someone walks through the door. Soft colors, natural light, and gentle contrasts help shape an interior that feels calm without ever becoming plain. Throughout the apartment, color appears in subtle ways, adding personality and visual interest while maintaining a light and open feeling.

The experience begins in an entryway that immediately introduces the apartment’s soft palette. Light finishes help maximize brightness while creating an inviting first impression, and built-in elements provide plenty of storage.

Moving into the living room, the apartment opens up into a space designed for togetherness. This is where family members can relax, spend time together, or simply enjoy quiet moments throughout the day.
The designer maintained the home’s airy feeling through the use of soft colors and balanced proportions. A wood cabinet lines the wall, while open shelving surrounds the television. The result feels comfortable and elegant, with enough flexibility to accommodate both everyday living and larger family gatherings.

One of the most distinctive details within the apartment is the use of an arched doorway. The curved form introduces a softer architectural language that complements the gentle palette found throughout the home.
Beyond its visual appeal, the arch helps create a natural transition between spaces. It breaks up straight lines and adds a touch of character while maintaining the apartment’s calm and cohesive appearance.

The dining and kitchen area continues the home’s focus on comfort and functionality. Designed to support a busy household, the space allows family members to come together throughout the day, whether preparing meals, sharing conversations, or gathering around the table.
Carefully layered tones bring warmth to the room while preserving a sense of simplicity. Wood cabinets line the wall, while the island is clad in deep red square tiles. Every design choice contributes to a kitchen and dining environment that feels welcoming and easy to use.

The main bedroom offers a peaceful environment for rest and relaxation. Continuing the apartment’s overall palette, the room uses gentle tones that promote a sense of calm. A doorway off to the side of the bed leads to a walk-in closet, while another door leads to a bathroom, where red tiles make another appearance.

One of the most significant planning decisions involved creating a larger children’s bedroom. To achieve this, one of the apartment’s bathrooms was removed, allowing more space to be dedicated to the family’s three children.
Colorful yellow cabinets with fun detailing line the wall and at the same time complement the built-in desk underneath the window. Nearby a single bed and a bunk bed provides plenty of space for the children to each have their own area.

The secondary bathroom returns to the softer palette found throughout the apartment. Designed with practicality in mind, it provides a comfortable and functional space for daily use, while gentle neutral tones ensure the room feels open and inviting despite its practical role within the home.

Kaliyeva Aidana Manarbekovna of AiShera Design Bureau adapted the layout of this apartment to suit a growing household, and introduced subtle layers of color throughout the interior to create a home that balances practicality with warmth.
